LONDON'S THRILLING NEW JAZZ QUARTET OREGLO ARE REDEFINING THE UK JAZZ SCENE WITH THEIR DEBUT EP 'NOT REAL PEOPLE'

Oreglo consists of C-Sé (keys), Linus Barry (guitar), Nico Rocco (drums), and Teigan Hastings (tuba), who all met while growing up in London. Nico and Linus became friends in secondary school, and Nico later connected with Teigan and C-Sé through the youth organisation Tomorrow’s Warriors, bringing the group together. Since forming, Oreglo has already been selected by Ezra Collective to win the 2023 Lambeth Sounds Emerging Artists x Cross The Tracks competition. They’ve played at the Steam Down-curated World Island event in Leeds, supported Gabriels at Somerset House, composed for The 1975’s North American tour, and received support from Steve Lamacq, Jack Saunders, and more across national radio.

The Not Real People EP showcases Oreglo's innovative blend of various genres, seamlessly moving from heavy rock riffs to drill-inspired percussion and breezy reggae. The quartet has cultivated a unique sound, drawing inspiration from the diverse musical landscape of London. Their eclectic approach is perhaps best exemplified by their single , 'peck,' a sprawling seven-minute journey.

“‘peck’ is about the feeling of being pecked on the cheek by a crush. On the outside, you’re trying to play it cool, but on the inside, your feelings are exploding,”

the band explains.

Not Real People also includes the previously released singles “Levels” and “J.A.C.K.,” along with four new tracks, including “comet,” featuring breakthrough London-based singer-songwriter Bel Cobain. Oreglo shares:

“Not Real People reflects our growth from adolescence into adulthood living in London. It captures our feelings of alienation, identity, and love. Sonically, this EP represents our exposure to and interest in all genres.”
