LILY CLARKE DROPS HER EXCITING DEBUT SINGLE 'THE CITY'

Rising artist Lily Clarke offers a fresh perspective on the indie-pop scene with her highly anticipated debut single, “The City” released on June 20, 2024. This nostalgic, emotive, and ethereal track resonates with anyone longing for more in life and dreaming of moving to the city with a loved one. The love song reflects the hopes and dreams of a young relationship yearning for a shared future. Growing up in a small Midlands town, Lily penned this song with aspirations of moving to London, the UK’s music hub, to pursue her musical career. Written with intense emotions, Lily captures the sentiment of finding solace in someone special, as expressed in the chorus line, "keeping me sane." This is something everyone can relate to when needing a shoulder to cry on in a time of anxiety and mental health struggles.

After playing Glastonbury 2022, Lily is back on a festival stage this August at Y Not Festival 2024 (yet to be announced). Keys, bass, guitar and drums compliment her original set driving a goose-bumps effect experience for the crowd. Lily is a DIY artist, with ‘The City’ being written in her room, and produced in her boyfriend's home-studio. After several BBC Introducing plays, Lily was invited to the BBC Stoke studios last summer to play a live session. Catch her playing live in Lichfield June 9th at ‘The BitterSuite’ and in London at the ‘Sketch’ July 14th.

For fans of Holly Humberstone, Olivia Rordigo and Sam Fender, Lily shares the same authentic, true traits within the storytelling and catchy melodies. The 18 year-old artist is currently studying songwriting, and has been writing since the age of 15, inspired by the environment surrounding her and the way she handles change. With a vintage, timeless image, we’re in for a promising future within the industry.
