Essex's rising star Talia Rae is quickly becoming one of the UK's powerhouse talents. Drawing inspiration from music legends like Amy Winehouse, whose album 'Frank' ignited her passion for songwriting. Her own work is marked by honesty and vulnerability, with a bold undercurrent that she hopes will empower others just as music has empowered her. Talia’s songs captivate listeners, and her voice is simply breathtaking.

Talia Rae immerses herself in a dreamlike realm of escapism in the official music video for her latest single, 'Rocket Woman.' The track marks Rae's second release, following her debut single, 'Not A Heartbreak,' which highlighted her remarkable vocal ability. 'Rocket Woman' is described as auditory cinema, features a captivating piano hook and Bond-esque strings, creating a sonic dreamscape where the rising star transitions from gentle whispers to powerful vocals. Produced by Mike Spencer, this empowering anthem incorporates majestic space-inspired production, making 'Rocket Woman' create a sense of stellar infinity. Discussing the inpiration behind the track, Talia shares:

“This song almost wrote itself. It felt like it fell out of thin air! So the inspiration kind of came once the song was written as I then realised what it was about. I knew I wanted to create a world that people can escape into when listening to the song, and to create a feeling of empowerment.”

Accompanied by a visually striking music video, shot in London and directed by Sarah Dattani Tucker. In the video, Rae envisions an underwater escape, breaking free from the constraints of reality and diving into a realm of boundless imagination, introspection, and thrilling unknown dangers. Reflecting on the video, Talia explains:

“A big inspiration of this music video came from Radiohead’s; No Surprises. I remember watching their video for the first time and just feeling completely immersed into the world they created. I felt a sense of escapism in a trippy kind of way, and wanted people to feel similarly when watching Rocket Woman as I feel that’s what the song calls for. The contrast between being underwater and being anything you want to be and drinking a cup of tea in an ordinary setting felt like that was the epitome of what being a Rocket Woman is.”

At just 21 years old, Talia has been making waves in London, impressing collaborators with her mature presence. Last year, she played her first headline show at a sold-out Paper Dress Vintage and released her debut single, 'Not A Heartbreak,' just before joining Benjamin Francis Leftwich on his UK tour. With a headline show at Omeara and Latitude Festival on the horizon, it is evident music and live performance have been pivotal in Talia’s journey and shaped by her self-education and time at the Sylvia Young Theatre School.

Earlier this month, she had the honor of supporting the legendary Stevie Nicks at BST Hyde Park, Talia Rae ellaborates on her experience:

“I can’t believe I can say that I supported Stevie Nicks! I honestly feel in disbelief of my life sometimes haha. I feel it’s a day that I’m going to tell my kids about. I loved every minute of performing and loved every minute of watching both Brandi Carlile and of course Stevie’s set (when she bought out Harry Styles, I almost fainted)! I want to relive it!”
